Electronic Classical

The Croatian pianist and counter-tenor Damir Sertić grew up in Munich, where he took his first piano lesson at the age of five. He studied at the Richard-Strauss-Conservatorium, an affiliate of the Munich Advanced School for Music and Theatre, where he received a degree in music pedagogy in 1998, and a performance Diploma in 2000. Mr. Sertić studied at this time under Alla von Buch, Vadim Suchanov and Gernot Sieber.
In addition to performing in Germany, Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, United Kingdom and the USA, Mr. Sertić has also performed with the ensemble I Sinfonietti 01 in Switzerland. He has been an active participant in many masterclasses, working with such distinguished artists as Alexei Nasedkin, Rudolf Kehrer, Elisso Wirssaladze and Thomas Larcher. He won 2002 Third Prize in the Lions's Music Competition or young artists, and was hailed as „best Croatian Participant“ at the Zagreb 2004 International Piano Competition. Mr. Sertić received his Master's degree in 2007, studying with Alexei Lubimov at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, and is currently pursuing his doctoral studies there.

In addition to his career as a concert pianist, Mr. Sertić sings as a counter-tenor in opera and concertos in Munich and Salzburg. His voice teachers were Catarina Lübeck and Monika Lenz.
He also teaches piano and composes: he is currently working on an album of electronic music, and another of music for piano.
