Reviews at the 2009 “Van Cliburn International Piano Competition” (Texas-USA) confirmed what critics around the globe have been saying for years: that italian pianist Alessandro Deljavan is one of the most accomplished and charismatic musicians of his generation.

At the age of 22, Deljavan not only became an instant favorite among audiences and critics at one of the most prestigious piano competition in the world, but garnered accolades from the jury as well, capturing the first-ever “John Giordano Jury Discretionary Award” for his outstanding performances of solo and chamber music.

Fresh off his success in Fort Worth, Alessandro Deljavan took part in piano and chamber festivals in Vancouver, Buenos Aires and across Europe in the 2009-2010, concluding the triumphantly year with a solo exclusive concert organized by the "International Piano Association”, Switzerland, as part of the prestigious series Celebrating Chopin". His participation in the celebrations of Chopin and Liszt, during the bicentenary of the birth of both composer, continue in 2011 in several European countries and overseas.

His performances had been broadcast live on European radios.

He began studying piano in 1989, not even 2 years old, making his debut the following year , she graduated in piano at age 16 at the "G Verdi” Conservatory, Milan .

In over 15 years of concert activity , has been applauded in the major theaters around the world, Austria, Italy, Argentina, Belgium, South Korea, France, Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Russia and the United States.

A strong supporter of contemporany music , he has invited to perform the works of Polish-Belgian composer P. Lachert at several polish music festivals in 2008.

That same year , he also performed in Munich , playing the world premieres of two pieces and played at “ Jeudis du Piano “ season in Geneve where the “Societe des Arts” awarded him the prize “Prix Jean Clostre-Prix du Jury”.

In 2005, he awarded at the “Gina Bachauer Young Artists Competition” in Salt Lake City , Usa (the first Italian in the history of the competition), was a semifinalist at the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition and won second prize at the Johann Nepomuk Hummel International Piano Competition in Bratislava where receiving also the “Award for the best performance” of the required piece.

Alessandro Deljavan recorded his first CD at the age of 15 for the Stradivarius label.

While still a child, he took top prizes at several national and international Piano Competitions and has since performed throughout Italy, as well as France, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, United States...

Throughout the 1990s, while still a youngster, Deljavan played in the most important cities of Italy and around the world.

He competed in numerous national and international competitions , often capturing first prize, including top honors as “Virtuoso” at the 1996 “Concours musical de France” in Paris.

Since 1993, he has taken part in the Mozarteum courses in Salzburg, the Festival of the Nations at Città di Castello , and the O. Respighi Foundation on the isle of St.George in Venice.

Deljavan is a superior collaborative musician and enjoys conducting while performing with an orchestra.

The chamber music specialist has played with such world-renowned ensembles as the Takacs Quartet , the Sine Nomine Quartet , the Orchestra Sinfonica Verdi (with which he also conducted) , plays for more than 10 years with numerous ensembles from duo to quintet , and 2 years is a member of the “Trio Bettinelli” and Duo born from the collaboration with violinist Daniela Cammarano .

Deljavan is among the selected young artists attending the “International Piano Academy Lake Como”, Italy , and “International Piano Foundation Theo Lieven",Suisse, one of the most famous in the world, where he meets regularly very prestigious personalities such as Dimitri Bashkirov, Laurent Boullet, Peter Frankl, Fou Ts'ong, Dominique Merlet, John Perry, Menahem Pressler, Andreas Staier. Alessandro Deljavan is under the tutelage of the academy's art director , W. G. Naborè , following also the chamber music courses in Lugano at the “International Piano Association”.

At present, Alessandro Deljavan, is a "Theo Lieven" Scholar" at the University of Music at the Conservatory of Lugano where he is a student of William Grant Nabore.

His most recent award to the “International Piano Competition Isang Youn” (Korea) in November 2010 will take him to a tour in Asia in 2011.

He has recorded for Naxos, Briliant, Stradivarius, OnClassical works of Brahms, Busoni, Cramer, Satie, Schubert snd Schumann.

With Kissin, Pappano, Rosen, he will star in a film about Liszt, produced and broadcast by Italian RAI TV.

In April 2011 , he played in the Quirinale, the residence of Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, in that same month he made his debut in Russia with the world famous Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra playing the Piano Concerto No.1 by Brahms.

From several years, leads master classes in piano and chamber music in Italy and Europe. Since 2010 is professor of piano at the Conservatory E. R. Duni – Matera, Italy .

Deljavan's life is dedicated to the art of music-making and to helping the audience fall in love every time he plays with the music for which he is so passionate.
