Soprano Amalia Gogeshvili was born in Moscow. She graduated from the Schnittke College of Music (vocal faculty, Professor Lidia Abramova’s class), the Ippolitov-Ivanov State Institute of Music and Pedagogy (faculty of music theory) and the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire (class of the great Russian tenor, Professor Zurab Sotkilava). Upon graduating from the conservatoire in 2006 she undertook postgraduate studies there.

In 2004 Amalia was awarded a GRAND PRIX of the International Festival Lumineux Des Arts “Le Paon Lumineux” for Opera Singers.
Through 2005 and 2007 Amalia was trained in Italy by reputable coaches. In 2006 she was invited to join the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre. Violetta Valéry in La traviata and Musetta in La Bohème became the singer’s first roles there. Up to 2012 she used to perform at the theatre as an opera soloist.

The singer’s expansive concert repertoire includes romances and arias from operas by Russian and European composers, European early music arias, operettas and works by contemporary composers.

Amalia Gogeshvili is actively involved in the Russian music scene. The singer has toured to great acclaim to various countries throughout the CIS, Europe, Asia and the USA. She regularly appears in VIP concerts, galas and festivals (performance at G8 summit, the Russian Presidential Executive Office, etc). During the anniversary Chaliapin Festival (2012) she performed Tatyana in Eugene Onegin in a production conducted by Mikhail Pletnev.

Since 2013 Amalia has been playing the lead role in Madama Butterfly at the world-renowned Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. The soloist has worked with such celebrated conductors as Vladimir Spivakov, Mikhail Pletnev, Marco Boemi, Miloš Krejčí, Vladimir Ziva, Anton Orlov, Felix Korobov, Wolf Gorelik, Vladimir Ponkin, Alexander Petukhov, etc.

Amalia’s major opera repertoire includes the roles of Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Madama Butterfly (Madama Butterfly), Leonora (La Forza del Destino), Violetta Valéry (La Traviata), Mimì and Musetta (La Bohème), Liza (The Queen of Spades), Giulietta (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Tosca (Tosca), Aida (Aida), Leonora (Il Trovatore), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte) and Desdemona (Otello).

Amalia Gogeshvili has been awarded the Silver Order “The Service to Art” of the International Academy of Culture and Art.
