When I was little and someone asked me what I want to be when I grow up, I had one answer in mind: I will be violinist!
I was born in Buzau, where my family from small to large, from professional to amateur, everyone loved the music. My grandmother taught me the most beautiful songs, my mother was a violin teacher, my father sang in a choir for nearly 25 years, my brother was also a little pianist at that time, and my cousin, singer Mihaela Runceanu, was the idol of many generations, so that may explain my choice.
My first step on a big stage was at the age of eight, to a national festival and ever since I could never separate myself again from my violin,. Many hours of intense classical music studies y, holidays with the violin in my arms and the small sacrifices that I made in all these years, paid back, made me what I am today, a fulfilled woman , happy that she made the little girl dreams come true, who dreamed once to become a violinist when she will grow up.
When I was 12 I’ve moved to Bucharest to continue my studies at the High School of Music “George Enescu”, where later I met those who were about to become my friends and colleagues in the ’Amadeus adventure. During high school I had become very passionate about the theoretical music so I end it up winning the first prize for two years in a row at the Music Theory National Olympics. High school years were very beautiful but quickly flew away between touring with the band through Europe and the sustained study of the violin , culminated with Conservatory.
In autumn 2000, the proposal to form together with my other three colleagues an electric quartet was received with passion, emotions and joy. My life took a new and shiny turn, and besides the classical music that I was playing from the age of 7, I discovered that you can play on violin many other musical genres. It sounded like a crazy idea, but so beautiful that it worth daring to give a try, to offer to the audience a different kind of music, totally original. We were not wrong at all, and Amadeus is for me now more than just a musical project, it is a dream come true, and the girls are more like my sisters now.
