Do we deliver or do we make a contribution?

Just take a moment to think about your job. Whether you work in an office or a shop, play in an orchestra or work in the construction business. Your boss, manager, conductor asks you something to do. Do you deliver? Or do you contribute? Deliver in the sense of someone asking you something and you giving it to him or her. Contribution in the sense of you giving something that you feel is being asked for, but you give it in your own unique way. With your heart, with your own timing, because you feel connected and want to do more than just delivering.

Imagine your job. What do you do? This new era asks for more contribution. Taking ownership for the product, lifestyle, sound and feel that brings color and life to your company in order to be successful. Consumers, and especially young consumers, don't buy stuff as an end product anymore. They are fast and cherry pickers. They don't watch TV programs anymore, but they take stuff on demand. Think of Netflix’s success; it’s going sky high!

So back to you: what would you like to do? Contribute? Deliver? It’s your choice.

About Andre Heuvelman

Classical World Music

Touch – Connect - Inspire
As a child, Andre Heuvelman (1966) had a great passion for making music. The trumpet appeared in his life by coincidence. However, this instrument offered a great challenge because of Andre’s handicap – he had a short lower-arm and a limp wrist. His down-to-earth approach to achieve what he dreamed of in the world of music allows Andre to have a compelling story to tell. That explains why he’s asked often as a keynote speaker to touch, connect and inspire audiences. With his beautiful music and touching vulnerability he shares his story and challenges his audience to take their place on their own, individual stages.

Andre has been a trumpet player since 1990 and the solo trumpet for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra since 1997. The orchestra is famous for extraordinary concerts in the most beautiful concert halls in the world. Andre is also a member of the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, which is well known in the Netherlands for the annual New Year’s concerts on Dutch national television. In February 2014, the Netherlands Wind Ensemble organized the thank you show for Princess Beatrix, who resigned from her task as Queen of the Netherlands. Andre does master classes on a regular basis and he teaches at the Rotterdam School of High Arts Codarts.

Andre believes there is so much more than just playing notes. Infinite curiosity and drive to communicate are preconditions for a career on stage, whatever that stage may be. He shows endless energy and is the creator of many concepts to connect and activate audience and musicians. His mission is to (re)connect people to themselves and to create shared value by doing so. His numerous initiatives are witness to this mission.

In 2013, he released his solo album “AfterSilence”, on which his music expresses the universal language of emotion, connection and inspiration. Apart from many concerts with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, Andre is incredibly active on other platforms for music throughout the year. In 2014, he was invited to perform at the opening of the prestigious Market Hall in Rotterdam, with Queen Máxima present. On the radio, Andre appeared in the Dutch Radio4 program “A good morning with ….” and on Dutch national television he appeared as the main guest in the program “The Night Kiss”. He performed at corporate gatherings for Ziggo, the Dutch Kidney Foundation and he was invited by the Radboud Medical Centre as a keynote speaker on the European Listening and Healthcare Conference, where he discussed the theme “Listening in health care”, with his music as a guideline for the audience.
