BIOGRAPHY

Pol­ish-born Vi­o­lin­ist Anna Or­lik is a lau­re­ate of com­pe­ti­tions in­clud­ing: 1st Prize and Spe­cial Prize at the 6th In­ter­na­tional Wolf­gang Marschner Vi­o­lin Com­pe­ti­tion in Ger­many; Haver­hill Sin­fo­nia Deena Ship­itka 2015 Mu­sic Award, UK; Solo Award and Lud­wig Spohr Foun­da­tion Prize at the In­ter­na­tional Max Reger Com­pe­ti­tion in Son­der­shausen, Ger­many; In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val Al­le­gro Vivo Award, Aus­tria; and in Poland, Spe­cial Prize at the In­ter­na­tional Karol Szy­manowski Com­pe­ti­tion, Łódź; and three prizes at the Na­tional Sta­nisław Serwaczyński Vi­o­lin Com­pe­ti­tion, Lublin: 3rd Prize, Youngest Fi­nal­ist Prize and Spe­cial Prize for the best in­ter­pre­ta­tion of Karol Josef Lipiński’s work. As a lau­re­ate of Young Artist Pro­gram of the Rome Cham­ber Mu­sic Fes­ti­val, she was in­vited to per­form at Palazzo Bar­berini in Italy.
Anna’s per­form­ing ex­pe­ri­ence in­cludes solo ap­pear­ances with War­saw Na­tional Phil­har­monic Or­ches­tra, Lower Sile­sia Phil­har­monic Or­ches­tra, Pod­karpacka Phil­har­monic Or­ches­tra, Phil­har­monic Or­ches­tra of Zielona Góra, Pol­ish Cham­ber Phil­har­monic Or­ches­tra (Sopot), Łomża Cham­ber Or­ches­tra, Z.​Brzewski War­saw String Or­ches­tra, Pol­ish Land Armed Forces Or­ches­tra, Loh- Or­ch­ester Son­der­shausen, Deutsche Spohr Phil­har­monie Freiburg, Deutsche Spohr Akademie Freiburg. She has per­formed recitals in Poland, Switzer­land, Eng­land, Scot­land, Italy, Ger­many, Aus­tria, Nor­way, Swe­den, Den­mark, the Nether­lands, France, Ukraine and Tunisia.
Most sig­nif­i­cant ap­pear­ances from the last sea­son in­clude per­for­mances dur­ing Ohrid Mu­sic Fes­ti­val in Mace­do­nia, and also Gstaad Menuhin Fes­ti­val where she have per­formed Sonata for two vi­o­lins by S. Prokofiew to­gether with leg­endary vi­o­lin­ist Maxim Vengerov.
In 2016 Anna joined the In­ter­na­tional Menuhin Mu­sic Acad­emy (IMMA) in Switzer­land where she cur­rently stud­ies un­der Maxim Vengerov and Oleg Kaskiv.
Pre­vi­ously she grad­u­ated the Royal Acad­emy of Mu­sic in Lon­don with first class hon­ors and re­ceived Re­gency Award, Roth Prize and J. E. Reckitt Award from the Acad­emy. In Lon­don she stud­ied vi­o­lin with Mau­rice Has­son and Mateja Marinkovic, and vi­ola with James Sleigh. Anna stud­ied also the F.​Chopin Mu­sic Uni­ver­sity in War­saw among oth­ers with Kon­stanty An­drzej Kulka.
She has par­tic­i­pated in mas­ter­classes with: Maxim Vengerov, György Pauk, Za­khar Bron, Wolf­gang Marschner, Grig­ory Zhis­lin, Kon­stanty An­drzej Kulka, Mirosław Ławrynow­icz, Bart­lomiej Nizioł, Ma­rina Jaschwili, Ian Brown, Robert Mc­Duffie, and Josef Luitz.
Anna has re­ceived the fol­low­ing schol­ar­ship awards: The Min­istry of Cul­ture,Young Poland, Pol­ish Chil­dren’s Fund, the Royal Acad­emy of Mu­sic- En­trance Schol­ar­ship, Lev­er­hulme Trust, Jenk­ins Award, Tillett Trust – in as­so­ci­a­tion with the Colin Keer Trust.
Since 2016, Anna has been gen­er­ously sup­ported by the Zet­land Foun­da­tion.
Anna plays an Genario Gagliano violin.
