Ayelet Karni is active as recorders, baroque oboe and shawms player, as a soloist and in various ensembles. Finished in excellence her Bachelor degree at the Jerusalem Academy of Music, with the guidance of Lara Morris, and recently finished her Master degree in music at the “Schola Cantorum Basiliensis”, Switzerland, with the guidance of Corina Marti (Recorders); Ayelet is studying for another Master degree at the “Schola Cantorum Basiliensis” with the guidance of Katharina Arfken (Baroque Oboe), and continues her Shawm studies there with Ian Harrison. Ayelet also attended a program of studies in Leipzig, Germany, at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Felix Mendelssohn Bartoldy”, with the guidance of Antje Hensel and Annette Spehr.

Ayelet Performed as a soloist with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, and the Jerusalem Academy’s orchestra; she has performed in many recitals and concerts, throughout Switzerland, France, England, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Estonia, U.S.A, and Israel, and in many festivals, among them are the London Handel Festival, Brighton Early Music Festival, Tartu Early Music Festival and the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival. She recorded concerts to the BBC (together with the ensemble ‘Les Mélomanes’), and “Kol Hamusica” radio stations. Ayelet plays with orchestras such as Britten-Pears Baroque Orchestra, Génération Baroque, the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, Barrocade. She plays under the conducting of famous conductors, among them are Christophe Rousset, Andrew Parrott, Sigiswald Kuijken, Martin Gester and Christian Curnyn, and in various ensembles.

Ayelet has been winning many prizes and scholarships. Among them are The Swiss Government Scholarship (2011/2012), The Jerusalem Academy President’s Prize (2007/8); scholarships of the America-Israel Culture Fund Scholarship since 2002, first prize of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra’s Competition (2003); first prize of the concerto competition at the Jerusalem Academy of Music (2008), and the Chais family’s scholarship for excellent musicians (2008). Together with the ensemble ‘Les Mélomanes’ she was a finalist of the York Early Music Competition (2013).

Ayelet participated in the master-classes given by well-known artists; among them are Han Tol (Holland), Michael Schneider (Germany), Alfredo Bernardini (Italy- Holland), Paolo Grazzi (Italy), Philip Thorby (UK), Mathias Maute (Canada), and others. She took part in early music workshops in Jerusalem, Graz, and in Freiburg.
