Biljana Vitanovic was born in Croatia in 1987. She received her formal musical education in Music School Albert Štriga in Križevci (Croatia) guided by professors Ksenija Tirić and mr. art. Dalibor Radičević. She graduated classical accordion at the Department of Music of the University Juraj Dobrila in Pula, where she has got the magistra musicae title, she finished postdiplom studies at the Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien in Hannover (Germany) in class of Elsbeth Moser. During her studies, she successfully participated at numerous accordion competitions: 
- 1. prize at Croatian national competition (2008)
- 2. prize 2009, and 1. prize 2012 at the International accordion competition in Pula (Croatia)
- 1. prize (99. 60) with accordion quartet at the National competition in Opatija 2009, 1. prize with accordion quintet 2010.
In 2010 she was selected to represent Croatia at the Coupe mondiale, and also participated the two most eminent competitions: Citta di Castelfidardo (Italy) and Internationale Akkordeonwettbewerb Klingenthal (Germany).
 
She has given many notable performings as a soloist, and a as member of different ensembles, in many famous concert venues in Europe: Vatroslav Lisinski Hall in Zagreb (Croatia), Slovenic Philharmony in Ljubljana (Slovenia), Aula Uniwersytetu in Poznan (Poland), Conservatoire National de Rouen (France), Brucknerhaus in Linz (Austria), NDR Radiophilharmonie in Hannover (Germany).

Since June 2012 she is a member of Norddeutsches Philharmonisches Akkordeon-Orchester Cuxhaven. In December 2012 she established Accordion Quartet Tessares which was first prize winner at one of the most eminent international accordion competition in the world (Pula, Croatia 2014.).
 
She received recognitions for promoting the University, and a ‘’Dean’s award’’ as the best student in 2010. 
 
As a regular participant of international masterclasses and summer schools, she improves her musical knowledge by being lectured by most famous accordion teachers and performers (Elsbeth Moser, Aleksandar Skljarov, Owen Murray, Alma Flammersberger, Friedrich Lips and others).
 
She is working as an accordion teacher in Music school Zlatko Grgošević in Sesvete (Zagreb, Croatia). In quite short period her students have already become prize winners at the competitions.
