Dr. Boja Kragulj currently serves as visiting assistant professor of clarinet at the University of North Florida Flagship Program. An international musician sought after for her sensitive expression of standard and contemporary repertoire, Ms. Kragulj has appeared both with orchestra and as a soloist in Russia, Turkey, Spain, Serbia, Motenegro, England, Canada, and the United States. Her experience as a Fulbright Scholar lends expertise in both Western and non-traditional clarinet techniques which she blends with scholarly research and innovative pedagogical methods and authorship. Kragulj was a student at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of Kenneth Grant and the Interlochen Arts Academy where she studied with Richard Hawkins. She has also studied with John Bruce Yeh of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Mel Warner, professor emeritus at Northern Illinois University, and Aleksandar Tasic of the Novi Sad Symphony in Serbia, Eric Mandat at Southern Illinois University and Kelly Burke at the University of North Carolina. Kragulj has performed internationally in masterclasses with Larry Combs, Richard Stoltzman, Robert Spring, Ricardo Morales, Dianne Barger, and Julie DeRoche. Recent performance credits include the Chicago Clarinet Ensemble, the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, the Southern Illinois Music Festival, the Southern Illinois Woodwind Trio, the Chicago Duo, and the Kotor clarinet festival in Montenegro. Recent performances include engagements in St. Petersburg, London and Belgrade, Serbia. In addition to her doctorate, Kragulj holds a post-master's certificate in music theory pedagogy and is a recognized Fulbright Scholar.
