Ashkenazi Efrat, soprano, was born in Israel. She studied at the Beit Zvi School for the Arts and graduated in Musicology and Humanities from the Bar Ilan University. She received the Israeli Vocal Arts Institute scholarships as well as the Baser, Eli Leon, Ronen and Sano scholarships. Efrat Ashkenazi was a member of the Israeli Opera’s Opera Studio where her repertoire included the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, Vitelia in La clemenza di Tito, the First Lady in The Magic Flute (Mozart), Mimi in La boheme (Puccini), the Mother in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss) and others. At the Israeli Opera she performed many roles including Mimi in La boheme (Puccini) conducted by Daniel Oren, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the Akko Festival, Erste Dame in Die Zauberflote (Mozart), The Grand Priestess in Aida, Giovanna in Ernani, Annina in La traviata (Verdi), Convict in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (Shostakovich), The Mayor’s Wife in Jenufa (Janacek) and The Comforting Woman in The Child Dreams (Shohat) including at the Wiesbaden Festival. DUring the 2014-15 Season Efrat sang the role of Gianetta in L'elisir d'amore (Bellini), Bianca in La Rondine (Puccini) and The title role in Madama Butterfly (Puccini) in a special co-production of the Israeli opera and the Israeli Ballet. Efrat's liturgical repertoire includes Rossini's le petite messe solennelle, Verdi's Requiem and many more.
