At the age of ten, Japanese born pianist Erika Dohi, performed Takekuni Hirayoshi’s Piano Concerto with the Warsaw Philharmonic at both the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall (Poland), and the Izumi Hall in Osaka, (Japan). More recently, she has performed George Gershwin’s Rhapsody In Blue with a conductor Tetsuro Ban with Ensemble Kobe in Kyoto. Among her awards are prizes with the Moray Piano Competition, Scotland and the PTC Piano Competition in Osaka, Japan.

A diverse musician, Ms. Dohi has performed at a range of international festivals including Les Nuits Musicales de Nice,(France), the International Academy of Music (Castelnuovo di garfagnana, Italy), as well as the Music X (Blonay, Switzerland).
Her repertoire ranges from Bach to Debussy, Bartok, Ligeti and Berio and includes the jazz influenced composers Bruce Stark and Anthony Davis. Committed to contemporary music, Ms. Dohi has premiered works by Samir Chatterjee and Andy Akiho at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Princeton University.

Erika has performed in New York at Carnegie’s Weill recital hall, Symphony Space, Steinway Hall, Gershwin Hotel and Cornelia Street Café, Cafe Vivaldi, and at Queen Elizabeth Hall (London). In Japan, she has performed in Tokyo at Kokubunji Izumi Hall, and in Osaka at Chuo Kokaido and Symphony Hall. She regularly performs in her hometown, Osaka, in the “R” music series at the Rhiga Royal Hotel. In 2010, the national NHK radio station broadcast Ms. Dohi’s performance at NHK Hall.

Ms. Dohi has performed with a diverse range of musicians including Jefferey Milarsky, Dave Liebman, and the ensemble eighth blackbird.

Ms. Dohi was a scholarship recipient from the Purcell School of Music in London prior to coming to the states. She holds a Bachelor’s degree, and a Master of Music in the Contemporary Performance Program from the Manhattan School of Music. She has studied previously with Phillip Kawin, jazz with Garry Dial and now studies piano with Anthony DeMare and Christopher Oldfather, improvisation with Vijay Iyer.
