Dominik Fuss

Born 1989 in Vienna / Austria,
Dominik Fuss grew up in a family with a strong musicial influence, his father Martin Fuss is a professional saxophone player from vienna & his brother turned out to be one too.

Aged 7 he didn't bought food from his school camp money his mother gave him, he invested it in a 10 CD Collection of Louis Armstong and only ate bread and water for 7 days. After that it was pretty clear that he had to be a musician.

After the sucessfull graduation at musikgymnasium wien in 2008, he started to study at Muk University of Vienna (former Konservatorium Vienna) by Prof. Jörg Engels and graduated with honours in 2013. Additional he studied by Jim Rotondi (KUG Graz), Andy Haderer and Matthias Bergmann (Hfmt Cologne) and started a classical padagogic study by Reinhold Ambros (Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra) and since 2015 Josef Bammer (Tonkünstler Orchestra NÖ). Further padagogical studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna by Horst-Michael Schaffer.

After his time in Cologne he founded Dominik Fuss' Rumpus (in 2012), a modern jazz quintet with his diverse musically influences, from Art Farmer to Zappa, Bach to Kurt Weill and from Pink Floyd to D'Angelo. In this band he is uniting his best friends who are currently living all around europe.

In 2013 he won the first Price for trumpet at the International Jazzsolist Competition "Masterjamfest" in Odessa Ukraine.

2015 he founded two Bands;
The Affäre Dreyfuss/ Affair Dreyfuss together with his father Martin and his brother Florian, playing own arrangements and originals for jazz-sextet. (w./ Mario Gonzi, Johannes Strasser, Max Tschida) and the Spittelberg JazzOrchestra, a jazzorchestra founded to play young austrian composers with a magnificent lineup. He is leading the JazzOrchestra together with Tobias Hoffmann (comp.//sax).

In the last years Dominik Fuss became an internationally performing musician, tutor and composer and worked throughout Europe, Asia and the US. (see full bio)
