Born in 1991 in Moldova, Ghenadie started playing the accordion at the age of 9. In 2005 he graduated the Music School no.3 in Chisinau with the result “excellent” under the teacher Lilia Rasciupchina.
In 2010, Ghenadie graduates from the “United World College of the Adriatic” (Duino, Italy) where he has taken music classes under the composer Stefano Sacher. He is currently studying in Italy at the Conservatorio "G. Tartini" in Trieste under Corrado Rojac, completing his Master’s degree in Concert performance. At the Conservatory, Ghenadie has attended many international master classes held by important professors and famous international performers, such as: Janne Rättyä, Primož Parovel, Borut Zagoranski, Boris Lenko and Elsbeth Moser. He has also followed courses and workshops held by Owen Murray, Radomir Tomić, Vojin Vasović, Stefan Hussong, Matti Rantanen, Aleksandr Selivanov and Claudio Jacomucci.
Winner of first prizes and many awards at various international music competitions, such as: first absolute prize at the “6th Ars Nova International Music Competition” in Trieste; first prize at the “Competition for Young Talents” in Val Tidone; first prize at the “Citta’ di Treviso 2013”, first prize at the international “Okud Istra” accordion competition in Pula (Croatia), the first prize at the “Strumenti&Musica festival” in Spoleto, the first prize at the international competition “Svirel” in Slovenia and first prize in the “Citta’ di Piove di Sacco” international competition in Italy.
Ghenadie is a frequent participant in numerous concerts in various cities of Italy and abroad (Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Belgium, Romania, Finland and Germany) as well as at various international music festivals, such as the second edition of the “Il Mantice Armonico” Festival in Reggio Emilia, “Nei Suoni dei Luoghi”, “Note future”, “Madesimo Music Festival”, “Festival di Portogruaro”, “Propatria” in Rome, “Nopti albe de acordeon” in Bucharest and “Trieste Prima” contemporary music festival, performing a repertoire that ranges from classical to contemporary music for accordion.
Ghenadie’s chamber music collaborations with young and active musicians are numerous and the repertoire performed ranges from Baroque to contemporary music. He has collaborated with composers such as P. Machajdik, P. Makkonen and F. Bedrossian, to name just a few, promoting their works either by world or national premieres. Ghenadie performed in concerts with Georgy Gusev (violoncello), Laura Agostinelli (violin), Valentina Vargiu (piano), Margherita Berlanda (accordion) and Janoš Jurinčič and Teo Fornasier (guitar).
Ghenadie has performed in concerts with contemporary music ensembles, such as Ensemble XX.Jahrhundert Wien and Ensemble Kontrapunkte, in famous music halls and venues amongst which there are the Radiokulturhaus and Musikverien in Vienna.
Ghenadie, together with Valentina Vargiu, is a member of the “Duo Aspera”, which has performed for various concert series in Italy. The duo participated in numerous international music competitions winning awards, such as the second prize at the “Strumenti&Musica” international competition in Spoleto, the second prize at the “Svirel” international music competition in Stanjel (Slovenia) and, at the same competition, the duo was awarded a special prize assigned to the “most promising chamber ensemble” consisting of a recital for the Amici della Musica of Capodistria association held in their 2014-2015 concert series. The duo has recently won the “Sony Classical Talent Scout” and has been invited to perform at a concert during the “Madesimo Music Festival”.
In 2012 Ghenadie has performed J. S. Bach’s “Concerto in C-major for 2 harpsichords BWV 1061” at the prestigious “Sala Victor De Sabata” of the “G. Verdi” theatre of Trieste, together with the accordionist Margherita Berlanda, accompanied by the string orchestra of the Conservatory “G. Tartini” of Trieste. In 2014 he was invited as a soloist of the string orchestra of the “Elena Teodorini” Theatre for the New Year’s Eve concert in Craiova, Romania.
To commemorate a decade since the composer Luciano Berio passed away, Ghenadie was invited by the Radio Vaticana to perform one of the Sequenzas written for the accordion, “Sequenza XIII (Chanson)”. The performance has been recorded and put On-Air in the spring of 2013. Ghenadie alongside his partner Valentina Vargiu were also invited by the Italian national television RAI to perform a recital which was recorded in February of 2014. Other recordings followed for Radio Capodistria, RTV Slovenia, Radio Beograd, Radio Classica and Venice Classic Radio. Many are his TV appearances (TVR International, ProTV, Moldova1, etc.), most notably on the show “Romania got Talent” where he was a finalist with an audience of several million viewers.
In 2015, for the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Ghenadie performs in Hans Krasa’s two act opera directed by Paolo Grosa at the “Teatro Regio” of Torino. In February of the same year Ghenadie is a participant of the Impuls Academy for composers and contemporary music ensembles in Graz (Austria), founded by Beat Furrer and Ernst Kovacic. Throughout the duration of the Impuls Academy he has collaborated with composers G. Bozzola, M. R. Bauck and P. Billone. Ghenadie has also performed the world premiere of the piece “veglia” for soprano saxophone, accordion and cello written by the Norwegian composer M. R. Bauck at the Impuls Academy Festival.
An active promoter of new music for the accordion, Ghenadie has commissioned several works for accordion and piano to young composers around the world, such as G. C. Taccani, R. De Cia, M. Azzan, G. Santini, M. Agnes, and others. These collaborations are meant to enrich and broaden the repertoire for the uncommon duo.
In September 2015 Ghenadie was the accordionist in residence for the composition masterclass of Alessandro Solbiati at the studios of Limen music. On that occasion he has made a world premiere recording of the works presented by the young composers who participated at the masterclass in collaboration with the pianist Alfonso Alberti and the clarinetist Selene Framarin. The recording will be released on a CD by Limen music in 2016.
Ghenadie is the recipient of the Erasmus scholarship that allowed him to study with Matti Rantanen at the prestigious “Sibelius Academy” in Helsinki, Finland. Together with Valentina Vargiu, Ghenadie is a participant at the courses held by the internationally acclaimed Trio di Parma (Ivan Rabaglia, Alberto Miodini and Enrico Bronzi) at the International Chamber Music Academy in Duino. From October 2015 Ghenadie is perfecting his knowledge of Contemporary Music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich under the guidance of Krassimir Sterev (Klangforum Wien).
