Born on the island of Lanzarote, Julia Rogers began her studies at the age of 6. She gave her solo debut at the age of 10 with the Marbella Symphony Orchestra and being of Scottish heritage, went on to become the youngest member of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and Camerata Scotland.
In 2000 she was granted a place to study with Warren Jacobs at St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh where she won a number of prizes including; the school’s ‘Directors’ Recital Prize’ and the Edinburgh Festival Concerto Competition two years consecutively. During her time there, Julia performed as a soloist performing works by Tchaikovsky, Brahms and Vivaldi. She was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Music in 2003 to study under Maurice Hasson where she completed both her Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies. Here she was awarded the Violet Wallace prize for strings and the Doris Faulkener Prize for violin.
Julia loves performing and recent engagements have taken her to Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Holland and the Channel Islands where she has been invited back in the Autumn and this summer was invited to the Mendelssohn on Mull Chamber Music Festival in the Inner Hebrides. Julia is also a keen jazz musician and is often invited to play with bands as a session violinist.
