KIRILL FILIN (Russian Federation, Moscow; bass)

Was born on November 29, 1977.

In 2002, I graduated with honors from the Academic Musical College at Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovskiy. In 2007, graduated with honors from the Russian Academy of Music (RAM) named after Gnessins (teacher: Alexei Mochalov, the People’s Artist of Russia). At the present time I am a soloist of Moscow State Academic Chamber Theatre named after Boris Pokrovskiy and a guest soloist of Russian State Symphonic Chapel under direction of Valery Polyansky. I take part in concerts as well. In 2014 I took part in the performance of Lennox Berkeley’s “Stabat Mater” in the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory (conductor – Gennady Rozhdestvensky).

My repertoire includes the following operatic parts:

A) Roles performed on stage: Basilio (“Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, Rossini), Norton (“La Cambiale Di Matrimonio”, Rossini), Don Pinto, Der Wirt (“Die drei Pintos”, Weber-Mahler), Antonio (“The Marriage of Figaro”, Mozart), Collin (“La Boheme”, Puccini), Betto (“Gianni Schicchi”, Puccini), Commendatore, Masetto (“Don Giovanni”, Mozart), Otton (“L’incoronazione di Poppea”, Monteverdi), Samuel (“Un ballo in maschera”, Verdi), Pietro (“Simon Boccanegra”, Verdi), Dottore (“Macbeth”, Verdi), Henri (“Das Veilchen vom Montmartre”, Kalman), Gremin, Zaretsky, Company Commander (“Evgeniy Onegin”, Tchaikovskiy), Davout (“War and Peace”, Prokofiev), Von Wierhof (“Semen Kotko”, Prokofiev), Father (“The Prodigal Son”, Britten).
B) Roles prepared but not performed yet: Rocco, Fernando (“Fidelio”, Beethoven), Don Pantaleone (“Die drei Pintos”, Weber-Mahler), Leporello (“Don Giovanni”, Mozart), Philipp, The Great Inquisitor, Monk (“Don Carlo”, Verdi), Monterone, Sparafucile (“Rigoletto” Verdi), Boris, Pimen (“Boris Godunov”, Mussorgsky), Sobakin (“The Tsar’s Bride”, Rimsky-Korsakov), Chub (“Tcherevichki”, Tchaikovskiy); Farlaf, Svetozar (“Ruslan i Lyudmila”, Glinka); Old Gypsy (“Aleko”, Rachmaninov).

Furthermore in my repertoire there are operatic arias and chamber vocal compositions in Russian, Italian, German, French and English; folk songs and songs of the Great Patriotic War.


Awards:

1999, 2000 – The diploma winner of All-Russian Singing Contest “Bella Voce” (Moscow);
2002 – The 3rd prizewinner of All-Russian Singing Contest “Bella Voce” (Moscow);
2004 – The diploma winner of International Singing Contest named after L.P. Alexandrovskaya (Belarus, Minsk);
2007 – The 1st prizewinner of Valentina Levko’s First All-Russian Open Singing Contest (Moscow);
2008, 2010 - The diploma winner of II-III International Opera Singers Competitions of Galina Vishnevskaya.
