Mihaela si Adrian Andrei

Since her childhood, Mihaela felt a strong attraction to sing opera and
Romanian folk music. After she completed the studies at the Music High‐school in
Craiova in1995, one year later, she was admitted to National Music University in
Bucharest which she graduated with high marks in2001.
The talented soprano won several prizes at the national contests and later, her
students obtained numerous distinctions at the most important national singing
competitions. In 2009 she founded a duo along with her husband, the composer
and guitarist Adrian Andrei. One year later she finished with high distinction her
PHD at National Music University in Bucharest, soon after releasing a book and a
CD with some of the finest songs of the English composer John Dowland.
During the past two years, the young duo released two more CD’s (an author
edition) containing Carols and folk music, written in the Romanian old style by
Adrian Andrei. In many occasions, the public and the critics appreciated and
acclaimed Mihaela’s voice qualities. Every new project which brings to the light
the Romanian traditions is a challenge and a joy for Mihaela Andrei.
