Milan Rericha

MILAN RERICHA, born 1973, has shown an exceptional musical talent since his early childhood. At the age of nine he started to play clarinet (by B. Ptáček ).In 1993, he completed his studies with distinction at the Conservatory in Teplice (1987-1993, V. Zíka) and in 1997 he graduated with distinction from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (Professors V. Mareš, J. Hlavaáč, T. Koutník and obtained the degree of Master of Arts. In 1997, he successfully completed his studies at the International Academy of Contemporary Music at the Paris Conservatoire in the class of A. Damiens and worked with D. Robertson and P. Boulez.In 1997, he was granted a scholarship of the Swiss government to study at the Musical Academy in Basel in the concert class of Professor F. Benda, where he graduated with honours and a soloist diploma in 1999. In addition, he frequented mast4er classes conducted by Milan Etlík Michel Arignon, Michel Lethiec at theConservatoire Briten in Perigeux in France, by Charles Neidich at the Julliard School in New York and others.M. Rericha is laureate of many national and international competitions. In 1993, he was awarded second prize in the national competition of conservatories and in 1994 and 1995, second prize in the national Mozart competition of chamber music in Prague at Bertramka.In 1996, he was semifinalist in the International competition of the Prague Spring Festival. In 1996 and 1997 he was awarded second prize in the prestigious Prix Mercure ORF competition in Vienna. In 1998 he was finalist in the competition in Rides (Switzerland). In 1999 he won the BOG international music competition in Basel.Between 1993 and 1998, he performed as a solo clarinettist with the North Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra and in the summer 1998 as solo clarinettist with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival. Between 1997 and 1999 he worked with the Basel Symphonic Orchestra. In 2000 he went on a concert tour with the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra. Since 2001 he has been regularly performing as a guest solo clarinettist with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2002 he has been a regular guest of the Solistee Europeaux Luxembourgh Orchestra.Milan Rericha has worked with a number of world-famous conductors, such as D. Runickles, D. Shalom, D. Kitajenko, Ch. Mackeras, V. Ashkenazy, C. Abbado, A. Borejko, J.M. Händler, Ch. Dutois, Z. Mácal., L. Pešek, J. Kout and others.Of no less importance is his involvement in chamber music ensembles where he has cooperated with a number of outstanding string quartets particularly, the Herold Quartet, the Nostic Quartet, the Stamic Quartet, the Amadeus Quartet.As a soloist he worked for instance with the Basel Orchestra, the North Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Solistee Europeaux Luxembourgh Orchestra, the South Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, The Prague Student Orchestra and performed concertos composed by all outstanding clarinet composers (F. V. Krommer, C. M. Weber, B. H. Crussel, G. Rossini, C. Nielsen, J. R. Francaix).Milan Rericha appears on all prominent concert platforms of the United States (New York - Carnegie Hall, San Francisco - Symphony Hall, Chicago - Symphony Hall) Japan (Tokyo - Suntory Hall), Kyoto, Nagoia, Osaka etc.In Europe he performed at concerts within the most prestigious music festivals such as Festwochen Luzern, Salzburger Festwochen, Wiener Festwochen, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Prague Spring Festival, Menuhin Music Festival.Milan Rericha plays first clarinet in the Prague Clarinet Quartet and since 2002 he has been Associate Professor of Clarinet at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. He regularly cooperates with the Czech and Swiss Radio.
