Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and raised in Miami, Florida, a bilingual vocalist, songwriter, dancer, and powerhouse performer Natalie Fernandez comes from a lineage of passionate performers. Fernandez quickly realized in her youth that she could convey and impact an audience onstage. "So, I made the decision that this was going to be my life’s work,” said Fernandez. “I won many awards as a young vocalist and began performing in various shows around the U.S.”
Fernandez went on to graduate from Berklee College of Music, where she performed with masters such as Chaka Khan, Ruben Blades, Anita Baker, Juan Luis Guerra, and Sheila E. Recently as a backing vocalist in New York for Diego Torres, Carlos Vives and Juanes. In Los Angeles, she had the opportunity to work with producers such as Humberto Gatica, Sebastian J., David "DQ" Quiñones (The Writing Camp), and Dany Tomas.
In 2013, she released a critically acclaimed afro-tango album with pianist Zaccai Curtis entitled "Nuestro Tango" (Truth Revolution Records) featuring trumpeter Christian Scott and Philip Dizack, The Curtis Brothers, Richard Scofano on bandoneon that is available on iTunes.

"Bringing a completely different sound to a classic tune (or group of classic tunes, for that matter) without destroying their significance is often a difficult task. However, for Natalie Fernandez and Zaccai Curtis, accomplishing said task is a no-brainer, so to speak.

Natalie herself is a rare example of the kind of contemporary musical artist who distinguishes themselves from popular artists such as Britney Spears and the Spice Girls (no disrespect to them or their fans, though), both in vocal and musical contexts. She blends her unique singing style and American jazz-pop influences with her native South American sounds and Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as mambo, salsa, and cha-cha-cha on here. She even applies her compositional skills to three lovely original songs on this album, placed alongside memorable renditions such as 'El Dia Que Me Quieras' and 'Nostalgias' (a duet with trumpeter Christian Scott).

'Nuestro Tango (which means 'Our Tango') not only succeeds in creating a brand new form of world music; it's also an album that was well worth the seven years it took Natalie and her Truth Revolution team to create." - Ana Rivera
