About Nathalie Peña-Comas

Classical

Soprano Nathalie Peña-Comas is quickly making her presence felt on the international classical music scene as an opera singer, concert soloist, recitalist and chamber musician.

Ms. Peña-Comas' recent engagements include 6 concerts-tour "Stabat Mater Tour 2016 Dom. Rep." alongside the chamber ochestra Capella Santo Domingo and concerts with the Belarussian TV and Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the city of Mogilev (Belarus), the Russian State Philharmonic Orchestra, chamber music and Art Songs recital in Rome, Lisbon and Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic).

Nathalie' performances of the past season included Pamina (Die Zauberflöte/The Magic Flute) on tour in Lower Austria; Musetta (La Bohème) and Valencienne (Lustige Witwe) at Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito of the Dominican Republic and Queen of trolls (The two Fiddlers) at the Brücken-Festival in Styria-Austria.

She has performed as soloist and chambermusician at "God Allmighty" Festival in Belarus, X. Festival Musical de Santo Domingo (Dom. Rep.), Wiener Festwochen (Vienna Festival), Brücken-Festival in Styria, Con Anima Festival and "Horizonte Festival" Landeck- in Tirol, Austria.

New season (2015-2016) includes performances of Pamina (Die Zauberflöte/The Magic Flute) and Lucía (Matteo) in Austria.

As a chamber musician and recitalist Nathalie has performed on important stages such as Radio Kulturhaus ORF (Austrian National Radio), Schloss Belvedere, Muth (Concert Hall of the Vienna Boys Choir), Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna; Teatrino Hall Teatro Liceu in Barcelona; Filharmonia Cracow in Poland; Academic Musical Theater in Belarus; Palacio de Bellas Artes and Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito in Dominican Republic.

A native of Dominican Republic, Nathalie Peña-Comas studied piano and flute at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música of Santo Domingo and is a graduate of the Universität für Musik und Kunst Wien (Austria) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Voice and Piano Pedagogy.

Awards and Honors:
• Winner for "Classical Singer of 2015" at Soberano Awards 2016.
• Winner for "Classical Singer of 2014" at Soberano Awards 2015.
• Winner for "Classical Singer of 2013" at Soberano Awards 2014.
• Finalist at the 14th Osaka International Music Competition (2013).
• Award for the ''Artistic Achievements'' at the National Youth Prize 2013 of the Dominican Republic.
• Prize for the ''Most Promising Soprano'' and for the ''Best Interpretation of a Polish Composition'' at the 14th Ada Sari International Competition of Vocal Art (2011).
• Honore for her artistic achievements abroad by the Presidency of the Dominican Republic in 2011.
• Prize for ‘’Outstanding Youth of the Dominican Republic 2009’’ JCI Jaycee's 72.
