Nickolay Shalamov was born on 23. May 1990 in the town of Rostov on Don, Russia.
He started his musical education in the Children’s Music School Ippolitov-Ivanov, in Rostov on Don, with the teacher V. Golovan. In 2007 he graduated the Music College in his town, in the class of Prof. Igor Benditskii. At present he is a student in the Rostov’s State Conservatory , again in Prof. Benditskii’s class. Since 2008, Nickolay Shalamov is also studying in New Bulgarian University in Sofia, (Bulgaria.) in the class of Prof. Milena Mollova. Nickolay Shalamov is laureate of many national and international competitions,such as: First International Piano Competition “Mili Balakirev” 2004,Krasnodar (Russia) ; Second Competition Aleksey Nasedkin 2005, Yaroslavl (Russia) ; International Piano Competition “Pancho Vladigerov” 2007, 2011 Schumen (Bulgaria) ; First International Piano Competition “Campillos” 2007, Malaga (Spain) ; Fifth International Competition “Young Virtuosos” 2009, Sofia (Bulgaria).
Nickolay Shalamov has been also given a federal scholarship from the program “Young talants” (Russia), scholarship from the fondation of Russian Performing Arts, and scholarship and award named after Svyatoslav Richter, from the Mstislav Rostropovich’s fond.
Nickolay Shalamov regularly gives concerts as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe and Russia.
