Normandie

In the 90th there was no way to escape from the first wave of techno music spread out from the US. The crowd was divided in those who loved and those who hated the new subculture. At least a becoming Hype has to polarize.

In the 1995, while recording mixtapes for schools radio with his first so called record player, young Norman Radek wouldn´t have mentioned that this hype was going to real hysteria at the end of the decade. He was deeply interested in this new monotone style of music able to transfer the audience in a hypnotic state. A subgenre of techno called trance. After a while he gained for more. The abstract was missing. So he searched and found psy-trance as a constant companion into the next millennium when electronic music left the mainstream. The movement bethought itself of its own roots and got back into the underground. Creativity came about again and artists started to inspire each other. Norman took part.

And then: First productions, gigs on private parties, Berlin develops the minimal-scene, further on big clubs like the Berghain / Panoramabar-complex establish and the nasty whistles stop blowing. Electronic music in all its genres was back in the daily press and in the hearts of the public. Norman wanted more and started producing melancholic lounge beside his turntable-passion for minimal tunes. Till then he is in balance between these two passions which serves to encourage development. In 2009 released Normandie his first single via remixcompetition and signed at Timezone-Records.

As a DJ Normandie comes up with a long list of reference. He managed several music-events at the Exlex Café in Kiel, worked as a member of Klangdeck at Weltruf and is now inherent part of the freq.-party-series by delik8 at the Luna club in Kiel. Meanwhile his greatest achievement might be the work in the planning and realization of the annual Frock-Summer-Festival. Since 10 years a cultural breading point for everyone between 23 and 30 in Kiel.
