Nuphar Fey

Originally from Tel Aviv, and having traveled a lot between countries and styles, my creative zone is in the meeting point of various music genres.
Driven by an aim to create new sounds, colors and textures in her music she plays and composes original fusion of classical, jazz, middle-eastern and Sephardi ethnic influences and experimental improvisation, crossing-over to written word, visual art and movement.
Nuphar's primary language is Western classical music, and in this genre she completed her Bachelor degree, with honors, at the Rubin academy of music & dance in Jerusalem.
In 2009 she went on to live in Spain and explore the style of traditional Flamenco music. From there continued to Rotterdam, The Netherlands where she was accepted to do an individually-tailored master degree of tango performance-jazz composition cross-over. She earned her master degree with honors in June 2012.
Currently, Nuphar travels extensively between Europe, Tel Aviv and New York for her various projects. Recent activities include an album recording for the Dutch label 'Silvox records' with her ensemble Fusion1721 (to be released July 2013 followed by a European concert tour) and work on her new solo concert program in NY with local visual artists.
