Horn player Saar Berger , born in 1980, has been a member of the Ensemble Modern since 2007 .
Saar Berger began his musical education at the Petach - Tiqwa ,music Conservatory and started studying the Horn first with Avrom Liran ,Jacob Kling, Alon Reuven and Dalit Segal.
Saar Joined the Rubin Academy of Music at the University of Tel Aviv and in Jerusalem with Chezi Nir and Michael Slatkin. Thereafter he studied with Michael Höltzel in Hamburg and Marie Luise Neunecker at the Academy of Music ›Hanns Eisler‹ in Berlin and completed his German Diploma and his Horn soloist Diploma at the Frankfurt Academy of Music with Erich Penzel and Esa Tapani .
Saar Berger has Served as principle / associate Principle with the Israeli Opera orchestra and the Israeli Symphony Orchestra.(2001-2005)
Saar Berger has received study grants from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and awards from Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund.
He is a member of the Slokar-Branimir Academy and a Horn Mentor for the Ljubljana international orchestra .

Saar has premiered Horn concertos of Dai Fujikura " wave Embraced " together with the Bit20 music Ensemble in Bergen .
German and American premiere of Anthony Cheung „ Fog Mobiles“ together with the HR Symphony Orchestra Frankfurt and the League Composers Orchestra in New York. He performed the Scottish premiere of Richard Ayres with the Scottish BBC Orchestra in Glasgow. Slovenian premiere of "Sonic Eclipse", by Matthias Pintscher in Lubljana. premiere of Benedict Mason double concerto , together with the 21- century new music ensemble in Israel.
Premiere of Jorge lópez "Tryptichon" for Horn Obligato and ensemble with Ensemble Modern in Alte Oper Frankfurt and Vito Žuraj's horn concerto with the Slovenian Philarmonic orchestra in Ljubljana and with the Scottish BBC in Feb.2015.
Double Cd album "traveling pieces" , solo portrait with 17 new premieres for horn, played by Saar Berger was released in 2014 by the Ensemble Modern Media Label.
