About ENEST

Pop Jazz Rock

ENEST (Shimrit Nativ) is a 34 year old musician, singer-songwriter, composer, arranger and flautist. Her musical path has gone through many phases, that led her all to the expression of her creativity and unique voice, in her debut album “My Silent Past”, that is due to come out in a few months.

“Light & Clear” is the first single, accompanied with a dramatic and fantastic video clip, directed by Jonathan Vardi.

ENEST produced her album with Avichai Tuchman (Noam Rotem, Roi Freilich), and collaborated with other appreciated musicians, such as Haggay Fershtman, Hod Moshonov, Omer Klein, Amit Carmeli, and many others.
She is just about to come out with her new live band, with Haggay Fershtman on drums, Adam Scheflan on bass, Itai Zangi on guitar, and Noam Havkin on keys and ableton.

Her music is very melodic, with rich harmonies and arrangements.
She has an electro- acoustic sound, that consists of spatial sinti sounds and beats, strings, piano, harp and other acoustic instruments.
Her lyrics speak of her spiritual journeys , her emotional life, and the admiration she feels for nature.

The making process of “My Silent Past” started 3 years ago, in her 8th months pregnancy. After a year break with her son, ENEST went back in the studio and started recording the live sessions. During the past year and a half she wrote all the strings arrangements, and spent much time in the studio with Tuchman, recording, mixing, working hard and having fun.

Before this process ENEST toured around Israel with her acoustic solo act, using a guitar, looper, harmonium, flute and her voice, to create a full and dynamic acoustic version of her songs.

ENEST started her musical path in her early twenties, discovering the flute and Jazz music. For 4 years she has lived out in the nature, with almost no facilities, during which she had the time and space to delve into her instrument and deepen her inner search.
At the age of 27 she started her studies in The Jerusalem Academy For Music & Dance as a jazz flautis.
During the years of her studies ENEST found her voice, and was very much drawn to the guitar. She began writing songs and started developing her vocal techniques.

In her music you can hear all of her influences, ranging from Jazz to old Israeli songs, from Joni Mitchell to Bjork, Florence and the Machine to Lorde, Paul Simon to Freddie Mercury, Bach to Ravel.

ENEST is also an environmental and social activist, a music teacher and a mother.
