About Sirocco Quartet
Classical World Music
Praised for their 'finesse and flair' (The Times), the Sirocco Saxophone Quartet is a dynamic young ensemble which seeks to engage audiences with the rich and diverse chamber music repertoire for saxophones. They enjoy performing original repertoire, transcriptions and new commissions, and have enjoyed collaborating with composers including Paul Patterson, Charlotte Bray, Tansy Davies and Thilo Schaller. They give regular recitals in London, elsewhere in the UK and in Germany, and recent appearances include the Purcell Room, St. Martin-in-the-Fields and Wigmore Hall.
Sirocco was formed at the Royal College of Music in 2006 where its members studied with Kyle Horch and Martin Robertson. On completing their studies at the RCM they went on to study with world renowned professors in Paris, Cologne and Vienna. They were Park Lane Group Young Artists in 2009 and received a Musicians Benevolent Fund Ensembles Award in 2011.
